What to see and do:

Ullswater is one of our less commercialized lakes. However there are numerous outdoor activities:- sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, fishing, walking, climbing, pony trekking, shooting (game and clay). Situated on the opposite side of the lake, is the Ullswater Yacht Club.

A good way to see the lake is to sit back and take a cruise on one of the steamers which run between Glenridding and Pooley Bridge. You can take the steamer from Glenridding to Howtown and enjoy a scenic walk beside the lake.

The rest of the Lake District is within easy reach from Rampsbeck Lodge, as is the Eden Valley, the Scottish Borders, North Pennines and Hadrian's Wall.
